Ancient Art's theme for 2023 is Interesting Archeological Sites, and we invite you to join us for some vicarious travel to different places all around the world.

Our first stop is in Egypt at the Valley of the Kings, and the tomb of King Tutankhamun. On November 4th, 1922, the tomb was opened by an expedition led by Howard Carter and financed by George Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon. At the time of Carnarvon’s death in 1924, there was a dispute between Carter and the government of Egypt as to who had control of the tomb and the artifacts, and in the end an agreement was reached that the tombs artifacts would not be split between them but would go to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

This is one of the three coordinating colors to go along with Tut's Necklace - all dyed on Socknado...  Ancient Arts Socknado is a yummy and squashy fingering weight yarn.   Each 100 gram skein of Socknado has 385 yards (350 meters) of 80% superwash fine merino / 20% nylon goodness.
